We are proud to present this mammoth of a paper - animals were trained for close to a year on a novel two choice approach-avoidance DRL decision making task. Chemogenetic inhibition of the ventral hippocampus led to the avoidance of and longer latency to choose the conflict option when decision-making was being made on the basis of cues alone with no outcomes.
